Seed of the Church?

I've heard that believers in the Chinese underground church are praying for persecution for American believers. They seem to think we Americans value comfort above all else, and that persecution will be the impetus for us to finally gather as one, truly representing Christ. I am part of a community of believers that has been meeting consistently, loving eachother, bearing with one another, amidst misunderstandings and offenses, as well as wonderful times. I would like to believe that we will stay strong and unified, even though we are not currently experiencing persecution. But perhaps God will answer the prayers of the Chinese, in our lifetime. In that case I pray that we could be a model for others--in how a unified body functions. “Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.” ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭12:27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
