I used to dislike still life as a genre, but lately have taking a liking, enjoying
the opportunity to explore composition, color harmony, and mood. Also enjoying the works of some of the past masters of still life: Fantin LaTour, Chardin, and Abbot Thayer.

Drawing at the Tacoma Art Museum

I was honored to be asked by the Tacoma Art Museum to be a presenting artist during their Community Festival, celebrating the opening of their show, The Outwin 2016: American Portraiture Today. 


I demonstrated drawing from a live model in the beautiful, light-filled lobby as people watched, drew and asked questions. It was a good time. Here are some photos from the event, and of my demo drawing...
