Student Work / Process


Each day in the atelier (french for artist studio) is composed of 2 sessions. The morning session is spent in the life room in front of a live model (see above). The afternoon session is spent in the studio, each student working on their individual projects, usually casts (pictured below), still life (pictured below), or master copy work (see previous page). First year students draw, second year students paint in grayscale, and third year students paint in color.

Student to Studio Artist


This will be the first of a series of posts chronicling a portion of my work created during my time of study in the Aristides Atelier in Seattle, WA. One of my goals with this blog is to display the awkward and exciting progression from student to studio artist. I hope this can be an inspiration to you!
